Breast cancer, being one of the most prevalent cancers affecting women worldwide, presents profound physical and psychological challenges to survivors. While the negative impacts of cancer are well documented, there is a growing interest in understanding post-traumatic growth (PTG) among survivors. This chapter aims to explore PTG among breast cancer survivors specifically within the Indian context. Drawing upon existing Indian literature, this review synthesizes research findings on PTG, its conceptualization, measurement, and factors contributing to its emergence among Indian breast cancer survivors. Cultural nuances, social support systems, spiritual beliefs, and coping mechanisms unique to the Indian cultural landscape are discussed in relation to their influence on PTG. Furthermore, the chapter examines the implications of PTG in survivorship, including improved quality of life, and positive psychological outcomes. By shedding light on PTG among breast cancer survivors in India, this review contributes to a deeper understanding of the psychological adaptation process in the face of adversity and informs culturally sensitive interventions aimed at promoting growth and well-being among survivors.

摘要
