China’s development of new energy and optimisation of its power mix have been rapid and comprehensive. At the end of 2020, the country’s installed capacity of renewable energy was 935 gigawatts, equivalent to 42.5% of its power generation capacity. That same year, China’s output of renewable power reached 2.21 trillion kilowatt-hours, which was 29.1% of the country’s total.
