In today's highly competitive market, companies are compelled to meet ever-growing customer demands by constantly refining their requirements. Presently, companies employ Lean tools to enhance system performance during the utilization phase. The application of Lean tools takes into account a number of conditions and constraints. One of these major constraints is the system itself, and the way it is designed and installed. In this study, we carried out a literature review to Lean integration in the design phase of systems in Industry 5.0 context. A few studies have attempted to integrate the concepts of Lean and Industry 5.0 separately. Not too many studies have highlighted the relationship between these two concepts, and it has been noted that there is currently no global approach that integrates both concepts in the design of sociotechnical systems. This work aims to provide designers with a design support framework to have a high-performing sociotechnical system. The focus is on formulating and integrating Lean requirements within an Industry 5.0 context from the early design phase, reducing the need for subsequent Lean interventions during the manufacturing phase. This proactive approach enables companies to respond effectively to the ever-changing challenges of today's market.
