Migrant Masculinities in the Spanish Sitcom
摘要
This chapter analyzes televisual representations of Latin American migrant men in the Spanish sitcoms Aída (2005–2014) and La que se avecina (2007–Present). The author argues that these series balance multiple and competing stereotypes of hegemonic Spanish masculinities, the figure of the “Latin lover,” and subordinate masculinities in order to position the migrant and the local in a dynamic and evolving dialectic of gender.
