The article presented optimization outcomes of alloy steel machining by abrasive water jet (AWJ). The Weighted Sum Product Method (WISP) is introduced for the optimization of machining parameters like working pressure, abrasive flow rate (AFR), and feed rate on the cutting depth of cut, the inclination of the cut kerf, and its surface roughness. The WISP method is grounded on the joining of four measures that denote the influence of beneficial and non-beneficial criteria grounded on the use of Weighted Sum (WS) and Weighted Product (WP) methods. Based on the optimization calculation it was initiated that the best possible set of control parameters and presented an SEM view of the cutting surface at optimal process conditions.
