The Holocaust and Its Impact
摘要
It is impossible to discuss antisemitism without discussing the Holocaust, the Nazi’s attempt to destroy the entire Jewish population of Europe. The Holocaust began with small steps in Germany that worked to segregate, confine, and persecute Jewish people in an effort to reach the Final Solution, the obliteration of all Jews. The efforts continued in countries occupied by Germany with millions being sent to concentration camps and extermination camps. Following the Holocaust, many were displaced, unable to return to their homes. Survivors often suffered extreme trauma, which also impacted their children. Holocaust education is viewed as critical in helping to ensure that it never happens again.
