The past few decades have brought about a surge in the demand for autonomous mobile robots owing to their practicality and scope in a variety of settings, including agriculture, smart industries, businesses, educational establishments, hospitals, and households. The demand for mobile robots is on the rise as a consequence of advancements in technology and due to the various duties and services they perform, like monitoring, shifting heavy items, disaster management, and rescue missions where the lives of human rescuers can be in danger. This paper unravels the difficulties for mobile robot orientation detection and subsequent corrections, as it is a cornerstone for the precise movement of an autonomous mobile robot in an environment. Here we report the development and implementation of two laser dot markers and computer vision-based mobile orientation detection technique and their correction.
