Crowd Management Using Mobile Crowdsourcing and Remote Sensing During the COVID-19 Pandemic
摘要
The novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a highly contagious respiratory disease that has rapidly spread worldwide, prompting governments to implement various measures to slow its transmission. In response to this global health crisis, we have devised an innovative solution that combines the Internet of Things (IoT) and the Internet of Vehicles. This chapter discusses how our IoT-enabled system leverages smart vehicles equipped with thermal cameras and GPS trackers, enabling the identification of key symptoms such as pedestrians’ body temperature and breathing rate. We can collect real-time data and visualize it using heatmaps to make informed decisions and allow for swift and precise interventions. This solution not only facilitates the early identification of potential cases but also contributes to a reduction in healthcare costs and the burden of mortality, playing a pivotal role in the ongoing battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the chapter addresses associated challenges with these technologies in mobile crowdsensing tasks and highlights possible research directions. Additionally, we propose a hybrid solution based on both flying and ground vehicles to further enhance sensing capabilities.
