In the process of automated construction in building engineering, it is important to detect and monitor materials and equipment on the construction site. The article analyzes the principle and characteristics of Genetic Algorithm (GA), combined with the current status of digital construction engineering automation technology, and elaborates on the specific application of Genetic Algorithm in construction engineering automation construction, and analyzes the application effect. Finally, this article points out the significance of applying genetic algorithms in the research of digital building engineering automation construction technology. The research results indicate that the application of genetic algorithms in construction engineering can improve its various indicators, with construction efficiency increasing from 85 to 93%.
