Career counsellors are vital in society, particularly in the high school education system. This study aims to emphasise the significance of career counselling in enhancing self-esteem and academic motivation and reducing anxiety levels among female students in private high schools in Pakistan. To ensure comprehensive results, the survey participants were 240 female students attending private high schools in four Pakistani cities. Three scales were employed to assess self-esteem, academic motivation, and anxiety. The data processing was conducted using SPSS 26 and AMOS 21 software. The reliability of the scores was tested with Cronbach's alpha. Notably, students with access to career counselling exhibited significant differences in intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and Beck anxiety scores compared to those without counselling. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) indicated that students’ Beck Anxiety scale scores negatively influenced their Academic Motivation scale scores, while Rosenberg's self-esteem scale scores positively impacted Academic Motivation scale scores. These findings could guide the Pakistani Government in developing strategies to address female high school students’ challenges through curriculum adjustments.
