A Proposed Framework for Evaluating the Technological Readiness of Industries in X.0 Era
摘要
The rapid growth of technological disruptions in the modern world is significantly orchestrating the way that industries and business ecosystems operate. In fact, the lifetime spans of the Industrial Revolutions are dramatically decreasing; there is no place for rigidity. Consequently, coping with these technological disruptions becomes obligatory. As a result, a new terminology of Industry X.0 has been introduced because no fixed revolutionary number could be stable today. Therefore, it is crucial to identify and map these technological gaps to evaluate the technological readiness of different industrial ecosystems. In this paper, a generic framework is proposed to evaluate the technological readiness of specific industrial sectors in the Industry X.0 era. This generic framework employs the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) as one of the most common benchmarking approaches to evaluate the technological gaps and identify the technological footprint position of different industries.
