The novel single-port (SP) robotic surgical platform is designed to operate in small anatomical spaces, which makes it a perfect tool to perform extraperitoneal robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP). We focus on the extraperitoneal RARP as it eliminates the effects of pneumoperitoneum and enhances postoperative recovery. Since the standard approach to RARP is transperitoneal, it can be intimidating to newcomers to perform extraperitoneal RARP. We recommend performing transperitoneal cases initially and transitioning to an extraperitoneal approach, once the surgeon is comfortable with the SP system. In this chapter, we have described our SP extraperitoneal RARP technique as a blueprint for other surgeons to replicate.
