Robot-Assisted Kidney Transplantation
摘要
Kidney transplantation is the preferred treatment for end-stage renal disease as it improves quality of life and survival compared to dialysis. Open kidney transplantation (OKT) is the standard approach. However, minimally invasive techniques like laparoscopy have been proposed to reduce morbidity, although resulting in longer operative and rewarming times. Robot-assisted surgery, with its high dexterity and enhanced visualization, bridges some gaps of laparoscopy by demonstrating similar operative times to OKT and even offers possible advantages in selected cases: obese patients and multiple vessel grafts. In this chapter, we provide a step-by-step description of robot-assisted kidney transplantation.
