Affinity and the List of Transformations by Moebius
摘要
Geometric “transformation” was first given specific attention as a thing in itself in Der Barycentrische Calcul, of 1827, by August Ferdinand Moebius (1790–1868). Where we refer to a “transformation,” Moebius used the German name Verwandtschaft, a word for “relationship.” In practice, the nineteenth century use was often closer to a mathematical relation than a function.
