Integrity, fearless justice, judicial calling. Born to parents who started their careers under colonial rule, I grew up during the political upheavals of Nigeria including military coups, and a civil war from 1967 to 1970. This chapter traces my personal and judicial journey from the magistracy and bench in Nigeria to the Commonwealth in The Gambia and the Solomon Islands garnering diverse experiences. I was one of the eight pioneer judges of the United Nations Dispute Tribunal in 2009 and retired ten years later. A conscientious judge pursues justice and serves with integrity, to uphold the rule of law. There is immense satisfaction in judicial life, but it is not utopia.
