Professor C. R. Rao, a towering figure in statistics, passed away at the age of 102. His illustrious career culminated in receiving the highest honor in statistics, an $80,000 award from the International Statistical Institute, presented during the 64th World Statistics Congress in Ottawa, Canada, from July 16 to 20, 2023.
