Blockchain technology has also helped reduce costs and increase efficiency in the banking sector by optimizing processes and eliminating intermediaries for cross-border transactions. Moreover, blockchain technology enables the tokenization of assets and increases the liquidity of previously illiquid assets. The use of blockchain technology in banking has led to the emergence of a number of problems as well as many advantages. One of the main problems of blockchain technology is scalability. However, as of 2024, the adoption of blockchain technology in the banking sector has been slower than expected due to various market downturns and general skepticism toward cryptocurrencies. This article will highlight the benefits of blockchain for the banking sector and discuss the disadvantages that prevent this technology from becoming an ideal option for the banking world.
