Algeria has integrated the development of renewable energies into its energy policy through the adoption of a favorable legal framework. As part of environmental protection, Algeria has created an important institutional mecha-nism aimed at the fight against climate change (CC), the new action plan of the Algerian government for the implementation of the program of the President of the Re-public aims to establish a capacity of 15,000 MWp, of renewables by 2035. The National Climate Plan concerns the actions to be implemented by Algeria to respect its commitments in the fight against climate change contained in its NDC in order to reduce GHG emissions. A National Adaptation Plan has been launched in 2023 aiming to better study the adaptation issues in the several climate regions throughout the country. Algeria has adopted an ambitious national program for the development of renewable energies and energy efficiency by 2035. At COP 28, Algeria is determined to respect its international climate commitments. Algeria has submitted its third national communication, with a first biennial updated re-port along with a national inventory of greenhouse gas emissions report in December 2023, in line with its international commitments under UNFCCC.
