摘要

Traditional residential and public lighting, installed to ensure the safety of people, property, and nighttime mobility, also extends the city’s nocturnal activity. In nearly all localities in Algeria, public lighting represents a significant financial burden for municipalities. Indeed, the public lighting bill for local communities and provinces amounts to millions of dinars. An energy transition towards renewable energies through low-consumption photovoltaic (PV) solar lighting and high-energy-efficient LED lamps helps reduce environmental impact and contributes to greenhouse gas emission reduction. The aim of this study is to present the main results obtained from a lighting project to be implemented at CDER, and also proposes the integration of LED technology into an existing photovoltaic solar energy system to power the lighting system. This allows for significant energy savings and reduced lighting costs. The use of lithium batteries has a longer lifespan than other types of batteries. Efficient energy management in lighting systems is essential, leading us to use PVsyst software to perform calculations that can be optimized through a specific methodology converting the system’s potential based on the tilt angle of the photovoltaic panel. Subsequently, we will study the influence of battery autonomy on photovoltaic power, battery capacity, investment cost, and the relationship between available solar energy, user needs, and battery state of charge.
