Algerian Solar Hydrogen Map
摘要
Continued combustion of fossil fuels releases greenhouse gases (GHGs) into the atmosphere, posing a grave threat to the global environment and precipitating climate change. This peril is exacerbated by rising energy demands driven by population growth and improved living standards. Consequently, transitioning from fossil to non-fossil energy sources, known as decarbonization, holds significant promise for substantially reducing CO2 emissions and mitigating their detrimental impact on global warming. Countries urgently need to assess their potential for green hydrogen production using renewable energy sources and formulate strategic plans. This study provides a comprehensive analysis for Algeria, focusing on its solar energy capacity for proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE) in hydrogen production using real-time and location-specific data. The study evaluates the potential of both solar energy and hydrogen production rate (HPR). It examines the use of both monocrystalline solar cells to produce green hydrogen generation using stand-alone system. Analysis of solar intensity across four cites reveals significant potential for HPR. The study concludes that Algeria has the best optimal location, where we can produce green hydrogen with the optimal way.
