Until present, member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have different legal means to protect Geographical Indication (GI) in their national levels. The difference is derived from the flexible legal means’ requirements in article 22 of TRIPS Agreement. Interestingly, Intellectual Property (IP) cooperation between ASEAN countries has led them to have similar standards of GI product specification. Using descriptive juridical method and comparison study to analyse the qualitative data obtained from desk and virtual research, this chapter explores a model of single GI Product Specification that can be applied in the different legal contexts of ASEAN countries.

摘要
