This chapter gives an introduction to strategies in the context of a Digital Transformation Program. It gives examples of strategies and of their characteristics. It explains the reasons why it’s important to develop a good strategy, and highlights the need for executive involvement. The chapter also introduces implementation planning and schedules in the context of an organisation’s Digital Transformation Program. The Implementation Plan identifies the detailed activities and resources needed to get to the future digitally transformed environment. The Implementation Plan is complemented by the Program Schedule, a list or table showing the projects that make up the program.
