This chapter looks at Digital Transformation from the point of view of a manufacturing company. The company's current operations are introduced. Then, various new digital technologies proposed for the company are described. They include Smart Vehicles, the Industrial Internet of Things, the Automated Factory, the Digital Factory, the Analytic Factory, the Flexible Factory, and the AI-augmented Factory. The need to adapt business processes is addressed, as are the expected skill gap and the resulting need for training.
