The presidential election of 2019 is a platform for the religious populism that will be used to win over people. Both Jokowi and Prabowo understand that putting an emphasis on religion is a winning political approach. This paper makes an effort to analyze the features of Islamic populism used by Jokowi and Prabowo and their respective election outcomes. The authors conducted a literature review, a form of qualitative research, in order to gather information about the practical application of Jokowi's Islamic populism and Prabowo's traditional populism from a variety of sources, including books, journals, newspapers, magazines, the internet, and the website of the General Election Commission (KPU). This study demonstrates that Central and East Java, as well as non-Muslim majority provinces like as Papua, West Papua, North Sulawesi, NTT (East Nusa Tenggara), and Bali, voted for Jokowi's Islamic populism because of the increasing backing of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU-Islamic organization in Indonesia) and nationalists. However, in regions with a substantial Islamic population, like as Aceh, West Sumatra, South Kalimantan, West Java, and Banten, Prabowo holds a commanding advantage. Religious populism had a significant enough role in the 2019 presidential election to make it quite probable that this form of identity attitude will continue to be embraced in the future.

摘要
