This research is a comprehensive study that focuses on the effect of gender diversity on corporate boards, particularly in the context of Malaysian PLCs. It considers various characteristics of women directors and how they influence company performance. The researchers also delve into factors such as qualifications, age, ethnicity and nationality, which affect a company’s outcome. More interestingly, it investigates whether women directors’ attributes mediate company performance and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The study employed a rigorous content analysis method based on secondary data and thematic interviews, ensuring the validity and reliability of the insights gained. Thus, this research seeks to determine the number of women directors in the top 100 Malaysian PLCs, their impact on its CSR activities and overall performance, and for future reference by policymakers.
