Impact of Selected Employment Generation Programmes in India During the Post-Reform Period: A Descriptive Review

This review-based paper aims to identify the selected employment generation programmes for poverty alleviation in both rural and urban India. The goal of poverty alleviation programmes is to lower the nation's poverty rate by giving families and households who fall below the poverty line sufficient access to food, financial assistance, and necessities. This study follows the descriptive research methods to reveal the impact of employment generation programmes after the economic reform period through various existing literature. It has been found that economic reforms and the implementation of various employment guarantee programmes positively impacted the economic conditions of the people in India.
