Composites are being applied in different industries, like the biomedical and automotive industries as well as construction. Thus, this chapter focuses on various types of composites, their benefits and drawbacks, as well as their performance improvements, and investigates the influence of adopting reinforcing agents, nanoparticles, and hybridization. The advancement in composite sectors, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, observed to introduce additional high value-added properties in combating the virus’s rapid transmission including good antimicrobial properties. The literature on various features of composites, bio- and nanocomposites, during the pandemic breakout has been reviewed to give information on the development and recent applications of composites.
