Employee retention is a pressing concern for organizations worldwide, and understanding the factors that influence it is essential for maintaining a skilled and motivated workforce. This study explores the impact of empowering employees, training, and employee compensation on employee retention within the context of Al Jazeera Shipping Company in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Data was collected from 210 employees. We utilized a convenience sampling to attain the required number of responses, and the study utilized SPSS version 20 to validate the proposed hypotheses. The results indicate that empowering employees, training, and employee compensation significantly predict employee retention, explaining approximately 80% of the variance. Specifically, empowering employees, training, and employee compensation were found to have positive effects on employee retention. These findings highlight the importance of fostering a supportive work environment that empowers employees, invests in their training, and offers competitive compensation packages. The study adds to the existing literature by offering insights into the factors that impact employee retention in a non-Western context, with implications for human resource management practices aimed at enhancing organizational effectiveness and competitiveness.
