Indigenous Cultural Expressions and the African Audiovisual Industry
摘要
This chapter changes from a (mis)appropriation model to a consequential model that examines the influence, impact, and development of Indigenous cultural expressions on the African audiovisual industry. The chapter begins by examining the influence of Indigenous cultural expressions on the African audiovisual industry and turns to consider the work of two of Africa’s censorship authorities who have taken several actions in response to perceived breaches of the communal dignity of Indigenous African communities in the depiction of their cultural expressions.
