This volume sought to delve into the situation of minority language media (MLM), in the context of a fragmented media landscape and after a harsh global pandemic which also deeply affected the sector. We have sought to shed light on three fundamental pillars: (1) the current regulatory framework to protect and promote these languages in the sector; (2) the potential impacts of social networksNetwork on the use of a language or the linguistic community itself; and, finally, (3) journalistic practice in minority languages and its challenges. All of this follows the new wave of literature on MLM and covering contemporary issues. In this work, we have also managed to expand beyond the traditional perspectives on Western European cases, focusing on less known linguistic minorities. This is necessary if to obtain a full picture about the current challenges facing MLM. This information also allows us to make direct comparisons, identify successful and portable practices, and, above all, to continue addressing questions that still remain unresolved.
