Common furniture is made of wood or metal, which have low recycling rates and are heavy. Cardboard is a lightweight and environmentally friendly material with a 95% recycling rate in Japan. Daikoku Corrugated Cardboard Industrial Co., Ltd. Has manufactured corrugated cardboard workbenches and used them for daily work. This research describes the process of redesigning and commercializing a workbench for general customers. We established and considered three concepts. After reconsidering the material and structure, only the top plate is made of Chinese plywood, and everything else is made of corrugated cardboard. All processing is done with a laser cutter. The size is a cube with a uniform size of 850mm. Corrugated cardboard is easy to cut, so you can cut the legs to create three different heights. Users can not only work in their favorite position, but also do DIY painting and decoration. Packing will be combined into one box. It's light so you can carry it with one hand. We conducted a strength test and found that it can be used without any problems. Sales will start from September 2023.
