At the same time, employee engagement has emerged as an important determinant of company’s success. This study looks into the relationship between emotional intelligence of leader, employee engagement, and employee performance in Bengaluru’s IT industry. Proficient leadership is sturdily reliant on emotional intelligence, which is the road to recognize, apprehend, and regulate individual and others’ emotions. Individual with great level of emotional intelligence (EI) can inspire and motivate their people, rationally connect and resolve conflicts and develop conducive environment for everyone. Emotionally intelligent leadership is especially important in IT industry, because its emphasis on collaboration and creativity. Employee engagement, defined as a strong emotional relationship and dedication to work, is related with positive organizational outcomes. Committed employees go above and above, resulting in continuous improvement. Retaining good employees is one of the top concern in Bengaluru’s IT environment, where technology changes its size and shape every moment. The relationship between Emotional Intelligence and employee Engagement on employee performance has been analyzed, but still limited research been focused on Bengaluru context. The relationship between a leader’s emotional intelligence (EI) and employee performance (EP) was investigated using descriptive statistics and structural equation modeling (SEM). This study also analyzes the mediation of employee engagement (EE). The study’s findings show that leaders with high emotional intelligence can effectively encourage and engage their employees, hence creating trust and commitment.
