Recruitment of Residents
摘要
The annual resident recruiting cycle is a complicated and resource-intensive process. The cycle roughly consists of preinterview recruiting, holistic application review, interviews (in-person, virtual, or a hybrid of the two), ranking, and Match® Week. Program directors must develop and distribute policies and procedures for their program which harmonize requirements from human resources, their sponsoring institution, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, the Electronic Residency Application Service®, and the National Resident Matching Program®. Success in recruiting requires significant preparation and planning, adequate financial support, and intentional execution on the part of all members of the program. Programs that do not fill all available PGY-1 positions in the Main Residency Match® may participate in the Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program® during Match® Week.
