Concern over the impact of human activities on the environment in recent decades has gained a new relevance, prompting scientists to pronounce a new geological epoch titled the Anthropocene. The epoch of human domination over the planet marks a number of ecologically disastrous outcomes, the global climate’s departure from its natural course being a central issue. The troubling outcomes of the Anthropocene, such as the extinction of plant and animal species, rising sea levels, radioactive contamination, biodiversity loss, air and water pollution, as well as the social repercussions of all the above, have acquired greater significance among moving-image artists too.
