Nise da Silveira
摘要
The work developed by Nise da Silveira is of fundamental importance to mental health, psychology, the arts, and education. Upon assuming the coordination of the Seção de Terapêutica Ocupacional (Occupational Therapy Section) at the psychiatric center, she created several activities, emphasizing free expression in an environment based on affective relationships. From the productions of the painting and modeling studios, Nise created the Museu de Imagens do Inconsciente (Museum of Images of the Unconscious). Her contact with Jung laid the foundation for her to develop original, interdisciplinary treatment and research methods. The connection between psychology and art enabled an intense dialogue with society, creating conditions for cultural transformation. She was bothered by the high readmissions rates, so she founded the Casa das Palmeiras (Palms House), an outpatient clinic that operates with its doors open. Currently, Nise da Silveira’s work is being presented at various cultural events and discussed at universities.
