This work is divided into two parts, the first part aims to develop an LCA and LCC-based assessment methodology, tailored to carbon fibre production, which is flexible enough to adapt to various production circumstances, such as various precursor materials, but at the same time easy to use and yields comparable results. The second part employs the developed assessment methodology to analyse the carbon fibre manufacturing process in-depth and effects of changes of process and material parameters. This chapter first gives a short overview of the methodological foundation of the assessment concept, complementing information already detailed in the review section of this work. Subsequently used material and the manufacturing equipment including the data acquisition system are introduced.
