Indirect matrix converter, also known as the TSMC, is a type of direct AC-AC power conversion topology that can generate variable amplitude and frequency output waveforms without the need of bulky energy storage elements. Due to the advantages such as sinusoidal input and output currents, controllable input power factor, high power density, zero-current commutation as well as the potential of constructing a cost-effective derived topology with multiple phases and/or multiple output ports, TSMCs have attracted an increasing attention in the recent years. However, the relatively low VTR is one of the major drawbacks of the three-phase to three-phase TSMCs, especially when TSMCs are applied in AC ASDs, power supplies, and power systems, and so on.
