This chapter deals with how to image appropriately following fetal death. Broadly speaking, the correct imaging approach can be divided into categories based on weight, pretest probability, or trimester. For example, there is a sensible working range for each chosen imaging technique, which may fail if the fetus is too small or too large, and the pretest probability of finding an abnormality is clearly significantly higher following termination of pregnancy compared to spontaneous miscarriage.
