From Nature to Architecture: Methods and Approaches
摘要
This chapter helps to understand how the transition from nature to architectural technologies takes place. It examines existing methods that are categorised into problem-based and solution-based approaches. Special attention is given to the bio-adaptive model (bio-AM), a cyclical, problem-based approach that illustrates the three phases of the transition from nature to architecture: scoping, research and implementation phases. An application of the bio-adaptive model will be demonstrated through the design of a light-responsive kinetic façade system inspired by Gazania flowers.
