Introduction to the Section on Education Technology
摘要
Educational technology (edtech) has become a pervasive part of students’ schooling experiences whether integrated in traditional, face-to-face classrooms, or used to support fully online courses. Despite the potential for edtech to improve learning processes and outcomes, most edtech enactment reproduces existing teacher-centric practices. The following six chapters review current understanding on the topic from the perspectives of emergency schooling, equity, digital media literacy, early childhood education, and data privacy and security. The introduction concludes with a roadmap for the policies, practices, and research identified across chapters to realize the true potential of edtech to enhance and transform education.
