Inclusion of People with Disabilities in the Workplace: A Focus on Germany, Austria, and Switzerland
摘要
In this chapter, the importance of inclusion of people with disabilities in the labor market is examined. The definitions as well as legal frameworks of disability in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland will be discussed. A major focus is on responding to the question of what companies can do to include people with disabilities as successfully as possible in the labor market. Both findings regarding chances (such as equal opportunities and synergy) and challenges (such as preexistent stigma and a lack of disclosure) are considered. A practical example is used to sketch possible enablers, which provide information on what aspects to take into account for the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace to succeed. In doing so, this chapter on the inclusion of people with disabilities in the labor market is particularly aligned with insights from the disciplines of (diversity and inclusion) management (D&I) and organizational behavior (OB).
