This concluding chapter summarises the main findings of the edited volume. It focuses in particular on three questions: Where does Ukraine stand today on the path to membership of the European Union? (How) can Ukraine make progress on this path through reforms in times of war? And what role does the Association Agreement play in the accession context? It concludes that Ukraine has never been as integrated into the EU as it is today. Its integration has even accelerated with the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion. This is due not least to the rapid pace of reforms, which are based on the obligations of the Association Agreement and strategic considerations.

This concluding chapter summarises the main findings of the edited volume. It focuses in particular on three questions: Where does Ukraine stand today on the path to membership of the European Union? It concludes that Ukraine has never been as integrated into the EU as it is today. Its integration has even accelerated with the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion. This is due not least to the rapid pace of reforms, which are based on the obligations of the Association Agreement and strategic considerations.
