Saudi Arabia is a vast arid land, but it has a wealth of wildlife because of its intermediate location between three biological realms. There are about 500 species of birds, 80 species of mammals, 130 species of reptiles, and thousands of invertebrates. The harsh environment and low precipitation restrict the number of amphibian species to only seven species belonging to four families and six genera. There were many studies conducted on amphibian distribution, started with Balleto et al, (1985); recent studies were conducted by Al-Qahtani (2011), Al-Qarni (2011), Al-Osaimi (2018) and Al-Jawdah (2019).These studies showed the extent of Amphibian distribution and their status and conservation. This chapter gives a comprehensive review of the status, threats, and conservation of amphibians of Saudi Arabia.

摘要
