This chapter presents the results of an experimental investigation aimed at evaluating the feasibility and effectiveness of utilizing lime and cement as stabilizers in the production of novel soil-stabilized blocks. The purpose of this experimental investigation is to determine the compressive strength of the Novel stabilized soil blocks (NSSB) using stabilizers such as cement and lime. The Soil samples were collected from Nemam village near Thriuvallur. It was mixed with lime and cement in various proportions to produce 24 sets of NSSB. Each set consists of three units which were cured by sprinkling process and a compressive strength test was conducted. It could be inferred from the results that the optimum proportion of lime is 15% for the given cement content. But as far as the percentage of cement is concerned, there is no such optimum value. The compressive strength keeps on increasing with an increase in cement content. As a result, this technology is exceptional in that it benefits the consumer while protecting the environment. Despite the fact that there have been many studies in this field, a user-friendly design chart for the compressive strength of NSSB in terms of its components has not yet been created. This work makes an effort to create such a chart. In this chapter, an attempt is made to develop such a chart. The study demonstrates the potential of lime and cement as sustainable stabilizers for soil-based construction materials, offering a promising alternative for eco-conscious construction practices. The NSSB shows promise for various construction applications, providing enhanced structural performance while reducing the environmental footprint of traditional building materials. This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge in sustainable construction and highlights the practicality of implementing soil stabilization techniques using lime and cement in construction projects.
