Stress Management Strategies for Postgraduate Students—A Curriculum Integrated Framework
摘要
Approximately 25% of individuals in India are experiencing stress due to their present employment circumstances. It is imperative for newly graduated individuals entering the workforce to possess an understanding of stress, its associated symptoms, and effective stress management techniques. This research aims to examine the present level of knowledge among postgraduate students regarding stress management techniques and propose an intervention module for integrating stress management techniques into the educational curriculum. The study is an exploratory research strategy, with data collection conducted through a well-designed questionnaire. The Cochran formula was employed to estimate the sample size for an unknown population, resulting in 190 students across postgraduate colleges in Bangalore. The questionnaire's validity and reliability were confirmed through scale analysis. The present study employed Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) using AMOS R software for statistical analysis. The study results indicate that postgraduate students possess limited practical knowledge regarding the various types of workplace stress and are generally unaware of how to manage stressful situations effectively. The students were interested in enrolling in courses that facilitate stress management. This research constitutes a pioneering endeavor to comprehend the level of consciousness among students regarding their preparedness to confront the difficulties of the contemporary stressful workplace before their actual entry into the professional milieu. The study will suggest an educational intervention module that can carried out across degree colleges to create awareness and practical knowledge among students to face the work environment.
