From Oil to Sustainability: Bahrain’s Transformation Through CSR
摘要
The present research investigates the profound effects of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Bahrain during its transition from an economy heavily dependent on oil to one that prioritizes sustainability. By conducting an extensive review of relevant literature, conducting comparative analyses, and assessing the effects of policies, this study seeks to gain a deeper comprehension of the complexities of corporate social responsibility (CSR) within the distinctive economic and environmental environment of Bahrain. Approach: This study employs a qualitative analysis of pre-existing scholarly literature, policy documents, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) reports from Bahraini firms to compile data pertaining to the implementation and efficacy of CSR initiatives in diverse industries. Results indicate that Bahrain is becoming more committed to CSR, as environmental sustainability and economic diversification objectives motivate this trend. Sector-specific differences exist in the efficacy of CSR initiatives; however, the finance and renewable energy industries have made notable strides. Although government policies are pivotal in enabling this transition, it is still apparent that greater stakeholder engagement and education regarding CSR are required. In conclusion, Bahrain's pursuit of sustainability, driven by corporate social responsibility (CSR), underscores the importance of integrated strategies that incorporate societal engagement, policy backing, and corporate initiative. Further research is warranted to broaden the scope of CSR's influence on sustainable development by integrating longitudinal studies and technology-driven solutions, in addition to conventional frameworks.
