System Evaluation of the Organization
摘要
System evaluation and operational analysis is a knowledge area and skill that has been identified across many engineering disciplines. Engineers design components and evaluate systems based on their own technical disciplines, however, those designs and components must interface with the system as a whole. Systems engineering process can translate to the evaluation of an organization, overall. Systems engineering concepts can be translated into enterprise systems engineering and provide a useful view of your organization and its interfaces with functions within an organization. Viewing your organization from a system’s perspective and understanding the interrelationships and impacts between functions enables you to take a holistic approach to management and problem-solving. To address organizational functions and interfaces can require a significant amount of work as well as the commitment of senior leadership. The results, however, are a more holistically optimal approach to problem solving that can provide benefits to the organization as a whole. Knowledge, skills and workstyles identified in the first chapter that are addressed in this chapter include the following: Knowledge: Expansion of core engineering characteristics at a broader organizational level: Skills:
