In this chapter, we present a concise historical overview of each electrolyte system, outline recent advancements in solid electrolytes (comparing oxides and sulfides) forBatteriesall-solid-state all-solid-state batteryAll-solid-state batteries applications, underscore the significance of cell fabrication technology and process parameters on electrochemical storage performance, mechanical properties, and interfacial mechanisms of the cells, and discuss the challenges associated with large-scale fabrication ofBatteriesall-solid-state all-solid-state batteriesAll-solid-state batteries. Additionally, we summarize key recent findings on electrolyte materials. Due to the extensive literature in this field, it was not feasible to include and highlight all relevant publications in this review; however, older publications are referenced in the latest reviews.
