R8 Recover
摘要
Although the recovery of energy and materials is low in the value hierarchy, which means that not much of a product’s value is retained at end of use and must be re-added to obtain a new, usable product, it is important for a circular economy. It poses the last chance to make use of remaining value of materials as much as possible before they end up in disposal sites as sunk costs and harm the environment in the process. Since the term recover is vague and is very often used in an overlapping manner with other Rs, this chapter attempts to clearly define the term and set clear boundaries with respect to the other Rs. A company that is considered a pioneer in heat recover units for showers is presented as the use case of this chapter.
