Aliphatic Polyesters: Promising Biodegradable Plastics
摘要
There are many attempts to replace fossil-based plastics with polymers from renewable resources. In this chapter, the chemistry behind the most common biobased and biodegradable aliphatic polyesters, especially polylactic acid (PLA) and polybutyl succinate (PBS), is reviewed in detail and how these processes are handled in industrial scale.
